মেহেদী হাসানের অভিযোগ করেছেন পটুয়াখালী জেলার পটুয়াখালী সদরের বড় বিঘাই ইউনিয়নের বড় বিঘাই গ্রামের দঃ বিঘাই বাড়ীর মৃত হোসেন আলী ব্যাপারীর ছেলে মোঃ সেলিম ব্যাপারী বর্তমানে তিনি বাড্ডা, ঢাকাতে বসবাস করেন। তাকে ও আরও ৬নংকে ১ মাসের মধ্যে ফ্রান্সে নেওয়ার কথা বলে ১৬,০০,০০০ লক্ষ টাকা নেন। ১ মাস পার হওয়ার পর তার সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করার চেষ্টা করে ভুক্তভোগীরা। কিন্তু প্রতারক সেলিম আর কল রিসিভ করেন। গত কিছুদিন আগে অপরিচিত এক নাম্বার থেকে কল দিয়ে ভুক্তভোগীদের বিভিন্ন ধরনের প্রাণনাশের হুমকী ধুমকি দেন। সেলিম ব্যাপারী মানব প্রাচার সঙ্গে যুক্ত আছেন বলে ধারনা করেছেন ভুক্তভোগীরা। টাকা নেওয়ার পর থেকেই সেলিম ব্যাপারী গাঁ ঢাকা দিয়েছেন। এই সেলিম ব্যাপারীর বিরুদ্ধে মেহেদী হাসান ও ভুক্তভোগীরা থানায় অভিযোগ দায়ের করেছেন বলে গনমাধ্যমকে বলেছেন। টাকা লেনদেনের একটি চেকের ছবি গনমাধ্যমকে দেখান এবং প্রতারককে দেখা মাত্রই ধরিয়ে দেওয়ার জন্য অনুরোধ করেছেন। প্রতারককে সেলিম ব্যাপারীকে কল দিলে কল রিসিভ করেননি এবং পরবর্তীতে কল দিলে ফোনটি বন্ধ পাওয়া যায়।
